The SCinet August Meeting was a hub of activity, bringing together key players in St. Louis to lay the groundwork for the upcoming SC24 conference. The three-day event included productive discussions, strategic planning, and social events.

Connect & Align

One of the standout events was the Infrastructure Fair, a unique opportunity for different SC committee groups to connect and align their efforts. Each group, including SCinet, had dedicated tables where team members engaged in focused 15-minute appointments with other teams. This setup was critical to identifying cross-team needs and dependencies, ensuring a smooth and cohesive planning process for SC24.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to a gathering of the technical team leads. This session provided a platform to address ongoing topics and review team reports. It facilitated deep discussions and quick problem-solving, helping iron out details and push forward key decisions for SC24 planning.

Network & Unwind

The SCinet August meeting wasn’t all work and no play. Participants had the chance to unwind and network during joint evening events with the broader SC community. The SC committee makes a concerted effort to bring the teams together to encourage collaboration and camaraderie.

The SCinet August meeting set a positive tone for the preparations leading up to SC24. With improved inter-team communication, progress on critical planning elements, and strengthened community bonds, the stage is set for what promises to be another successful SC conference.
